Happy Monday and Happy New Year! We hope you all have had a great start to the new year and that it brings you good fortunes.

1. US Youth Soccer National League Boys conclude play in Florida (Soccer Wire)

The National League boys concluded play in Orlando at the ESPN Wide World of Sports. They played alongside the Disney Soccer Showcase.

“National League play will continue Jan. 19-21 when 72 National League Girls teams continue their seasons at The Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood Ranch, FL.”

At the conclusion of the Orlando event, two 19U boys teams secured top two finishes in their divisions, thus they have earned their spots in the National League Championships. These teams were Lehigh Valley United and LMSC Rats. The rest of the National League Championship berths will be decided in Las Vegas.

“Ohio Premier, like many other teams competing in Orlando, picked up valuable points in the standings that could lead to a berth to Nationals when the standings are finalized at the end of the season.”

Congrats to everyone who participated in the Orlando National League Event. We cannot wait to see who all will make the National League Championship at the Las Vegas event! We wish everyone luck.

Who do you think will win the National Championship in the end?

Sit back and enjoy some soccer brilliance by Kepa Arrizabalaga. These are some truly astounding passes.

3. Chelsea Signs Christian Pulisic for $73 Million (NY Times)

Christian Pulisic has signed with Chelsea for a whopping $73 million. Pulisic is 20 years old and this contract is the most lucrative for an American player, by far.

“Pulisic thanked [his] German club for the opportunities it had offered him since he arrived as a raw, excited, very nervous but exceptionally proud 16-year-old from a small American town called Hershey.”

Pulisic is the youngest player to appear and score in a World Cup Qualifier for the United States at age 17.

“Christian has shown his quality during a fantastic spell in Germany and at just 20, we believe he has the potential to become an important Chelsea player for many years to come.”

We hope to see a standout player like Pulisic succeed with Chelsea and cannot wait to watch him.

What are your expectations for Christian Pulisic with Chelsea?
