Fuel Soccer Talk: Pulisic can’t get on the pitch in Chelsea; Kerr helps send Chicago to the postseason; Video Lesson – Improving Your Stamina

Pulisic spending time in Chelsea on the bench – what’s up with that?

What’s going on with Christian Pulisic at Chelsea? As a Manchester City fan, the treatment of our standout American player so far this year is another reason to dislike the Blues. I mean, it was his birthday last week and he never got off the bench. She we be worried? Did Pulisic make a mistake joining Chelsea?

On Sunday, four days after his 21st birthday, the pride of American soccer didn’t see the field in his third straight Blues game even though he is fully fit.

When he joined Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund in January – only to be loaned back for the remainder of the season – the big question centered around playing time. He was only going to get better and take full advantage of playing against premier talent in the Premier League if he was on the pitch – not the bench. Well, Mohamed Salah, Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku were not good enough for the Blues either.

Leander Schaerlaeckens of Yahoo Sports breaks down what is up with Chelsea and specifically Pulisic. He believes it’s not time to panic yet over our American superstar’s lack of playing time.

Kerr breaks goal-scoring record as Red Stars clinch playoff spot

The Chicago Red Stars clinched a playoff berth with a 3-1 victory over the Washington Spirit. Chicago’s record improved to 13-8-2 with 41 points, while Washington Spirit’s record is now 7-8-5 with 26 points. Sam Kerr scored a brace and Yuki Nagasato also tallied for Chicago in the win. Mallory Pugh scored the consolation goal for Washington. The goals for Kerr tied her own record and then broke it with her 17th and 18th of the season.
